Sleep Tight.

For those that we loved
Memories we locked away
For photos of times
We all shared such good days
For the eternal gift
Of playing such a part
For the chance to have cradled
Such amazing hearts
For songs we created
But never sang out loud
For warm handshakes
Kept locked in the clouds
For all the smiles and happily cried tears
For our friendships
That shaped us over the years
For all those we have lost
We say our prayers
For all our courage
Every thing we shared
For all that we remember
The lives we achieved
For all those we miss
I raise a glass to Thee

Here With Dad.

That old tin bath
Left out in the Sun
On sweet dewed grass
Warm glimmered waters run
Dad was a Soldier
A farmer  A great Soul
He gave us amazing Summers
And taught us how to grow
Picking Apples
In fields of green
Sat upon the tractor
Huge smiles that beamed
We never just had one day
It was life's Holiday of fun
So much laughter
So much play
But if I could choose
Just one amazing moment
It would all that is held
In that Christmas torment
Sprinkled Magic
That warm log fire
Presents with ribbons
Petty paper to admire
A cold winters evening
Chestnuts with hot cups of tea
A Father so happy
With me resting on his knee.

Magic In Thee.

A shimmering wood
That contains the stars
Of wonderous Magic
Full of silver Moon shards
A box of power
A box of goals
It has a  heart
Within a beating soul
Key of silver
Platinum charm
Ancient Chants protect it
So it can't
Cause harm
Cross inlaid
To keep Demons away
Just a wodden box ?
Who can say ?
Once you are told
Stories and ryhmes
Mysterious things
Take a hold
You can't help but question
Sanity's plea
Is that little box Magic ?
Will it move the heavens
Or melt the sea ?
Blessing or a curse
Which story to believe ?
I sit in front of it
No will to leave
But to  walk away ?
Forget all these Myths ?
Could this small box
Be part of a gift ?
Can I unlock secrets ?
Make Wishes come true ?
Oh little Pandora's Box
What shall I do ?

That Sweet Red.

She tried so hard to put it down
That glass in her hand
In which her life drowned
Sweet taste
That blurred her head
Stopped her thinking
Her emotions laid dead
Color red
Spilt on her chin
Dropped to the floor
A puddle of sin
Taken over
That bottle or few
A breakfast
Lasting the whole day through
Into the nights
With a hand full of pills
Sickened duvets
A struggle of will
Life never used to be this way
She reminisced of dance floors
Where she once swayed
Pretty tunes still come to her head
Along with memories
Soon lost in dread
How could such beauty
Be torn from this face
Hagered eyes,  wrinkles
Cover this once golden grace
Her life was changed
In one quick glance
Sitting by a bottle
No longer stands a chance
Love has flown
And left her be
With a glass of sweet red
Resting on her Knee

The Old Modern.

It may be modern times we hold
But who doesn't wonder
At stories of old
Ancient relatives
Songs of war
Historical notebooks
Journels in store
Each day we add a second penned line
In verse in pages
In books all bind
Footprints of past
Hand prints of gold
Who can but wonder
At stories of old

The Life They Live.

Gambling Man
Empty pockets
Drunken Woman
Clutching her pretty locket
Old Man
Walks the Street
Shuffling each step
With time to keep
Disturbed housewife
Wondering why
The walls don't talk back
Are they shy ?
Graceful Dancer
Twirling to a tune
Forgetting what happened
On a dark day in June
Bala clavered head
Breaking the door
Will fill his bag
With all that's in store
Distant lawn mower
With an owner that sighs
Bees buzzing round
Sunflowers high
A happy child
Looking at the Sun
In his hand
A Cowboy's gun
Teenagers waiting
For School to end
Summer vacations
Just around the bend
We all live
Such different lives
Some of them good
A few of them sad
That gambling Man shouts
To a devil of class
That drunken woman stumbles
With her Demon filled glass
Life swallows us all
With stories to be told
A legacy set
In  a page of gold.

Scrolls

Beautiful day
Collums of gold
Laid down from the Sun
On Earth of old
Rainbowed skies
Over crystal trees
The fish in the river
Swim with such ease
A dog's bark
A child's cry
Lovers in laughter
But here I lie
With notebook and pen
Of  ideas and dreams
Life gone by
Papered edges stained at the seems
I have conquered so much
Over my years
Told many stories
Cried many tears
Trodden paths
Put down many goals
Failed in some
Left footprints in scrolls
Watched many smiles
Shared all loves
But on this dewed grass
I hand to the Dove
Hopes of my future
Past wrapped in sheets
So she can take flight
And float on the breeze
Whispering my thoughts
Amongst the Bees

A Lonely Bench

Sitting ,watching
People go by
Confidence in heels
And those that are shy
Glimmer of sunshine
Smiles on faces
Distant laughs
As they step in paces
Broken shoes
Rips in Jeans
Blonde hair and jackets
Colorful scenes
Crazy arguments
Children playing
Struggling through each mission
Some are praying
Bags full
Of a shopping spree
How many of these people
Notice me ?
Here  on a bench
Quiet, unspoken
Thinking how good it feels
When a new day has just woken

He Stood So Tall.

It was chaos,
A drunken brawl
The Devil sat lonely
Angels began to fall
Clouds lost lusture
Black rain began to seep
Through veins in crackled hedges
As Darkness began to creep
Light lost her purpose
Stars no longer  burned
The Sun cloaked her pretty head
Her back she slowly turned
He started to weave a magic
Of wickedness with desire
To destroy a golden hill top
Slay mother nature and tread the flowers
Intention to spread evil
Was winning in his path
To beat a greater good
Where only he could laugh
So I cling to my pillow
Tears of hopelessness
He found a sick humour
At such sad depress
Of Human Nature's feelings
He had come to end it all
To fling his final dance
Upon a lifted pedestal
He is the crazy
The madness in song
The Devil overcame me
No longer am I strong
Prayers of hope abandoned
Will lost it's way
I give in my struggled fight
And eternally sleep my life away

I Stand Alone

I hear it chime
But the clock stands still
No battery or life
No key of will
I hear your voice
In the distance call
But you are not here
Only a bare wall
I smell the sweetness
Of perfumes sprayed
But you are not here
Although I prayed and prayed
For that tender breath
To silently creep in
To feel your hands
Warm on my skin
I cry in the dark
Calling out your name
But you are not here
This is such a cruel game
I wake to find the bed so cold
Pillows uncreased
Only memories told
A single coffee cup
On a table for two
And by the door
Only one pair of shoes
But you are not here
To calm my mind
To cradle scared thoughts
That leave me blind
I see your smile
Right there in my dreams
I would bring you back
If I had the means
Make up covers tears
And eyes that are aching
My OKs are false
To the People I am facing
If only you knew how hard it is
But you are not here
To help with a tender kiss
So I cover the clock
Ignore the Day
Because you are not here
To help stop my life fray

Crackled Paths

Came down
Falling hard
Broke through clouds
Stealing shiny star shards
Crippled the Moon
Split open the Sun
I've given up
Every thing's done
Earth is now sick
Blackened my feet
Sand is now dead
Lost in flames heat
Skins now burn
From failing hearts
Angels turned bitter
Devil's lording starts
Run all the people
Jump over crackled paths
Try to avoid
His Throne by his hearth
He foretold
Breaking Mankind
Destroying all faiths
With wicked in mind
He will twist insides
Until breathing is done
I've given up
My Demon has won.

Fly

Clear sky
A crystal raindrop falls
Wonder why
Who's tears were called
A single sun ray
Hits the river
Slight breeze
To make you shiver
Silent whisper held in Space
Floating with Moons
Leaving no trace
Creatures and critters
All remain still
Crickets are silent
No Ants on the hill
You see,
crystal raindrops
only fall
When Heaven needs Angels
No matter how small
So hush my love
Don't be afraid
He promised to love you
When I prayed
Walk your steps
Through gates so high
I'll sit here and watch
With a gentle sigh
I will hold your hand
When it's my turn
I will trace your path
You see, I learn
That crystal raindrops
Only fall
When hearts stop beating
It is our call
Goodbye sweet one
Sleep so tight
I will see you one day
When my wings take flight.
